Hi, I’m Stacie Acevedo, founder of Stacie Acevedo Photography. It’s so great to meet you!
I call Florida home, where the lush wetlands and vibrant wildlife of the Everglades meet the endless stretches of sandy beaches. This unique environment serves as my playground, providing endless opportunities to capture the beauty of nature. Whether I’m walking barefoot along the shore or exploring boardwalks through the wetlands, I’m constantly in awe of the wildlife and landscapes that surround me.
One of my favorite adventures is never knowing what I’ll discover while exploring the wetlands. From majestic eagles soaring overhead to sneaky iguanas, or alligators lounging in the sun, each walk feels like a mini-safari! The diverse and unpredictable wildlife keeps me coming back for more, and every visit is a brand-new adventure. I’ve even been lucky enough to spot wild bobcats on several occasions—safely, of course—and as a cat lover, it was an unforgettable experience, especially when I witnessed one bobcat hissing at another! Who knows what amazing animals I’ll stumble upon next?
When I’m not in the wetlands, you can often find me at sunrise or sunset on one of Florida’s stunning beaches, camera in hand. The shifting colors of the sky never cease to amaze me, and I live for those magical moments when the full moon rises over the horizon, casting either a silver or orange glow on the ocean. For me, moonrises over the water are pure magic!
My love for nature photography began in a fun and unexpected way—thanks to my husband. After taking one too many photos of him, he joked, “Why don’t you go find something else to photograph?” Little did I know, that playful remark would spark a lifelong passion for capturing the outdoors. Every time I head out with my camera, I’m excited to see what nature has in store—it’s always an adventure.
I’m always sharpening my skills and pushing my creative boundaries! While my heart beats for wildlife and nature photography, I’ve also made a splash in the black-and-white photography world. I was thrilled to be a nominee for the prestigious Spider Awards—an international celebration of the magic of monochrome in both 2023 and 2024. Who says you can’t have a little fun in black and white? Check out the nominated photos below!
When I’m not behind the lens, I’m spending time with my wonderful and supportive husband and our two adorable rescue kitties, Lilly and Bella. Besides photography, I enjoy traveling, I’m a huge fan of Downton Abbey, Euchre, Michigan Rummy and I have a soft spot for all feline, both big and small.
